A Table of Contents (TOC) enhances the viewer's experience by allowing them to navigate through different sections of a video easily. With LearnWorlds, you can manually create chapters or leverage AI to generate a structured outline. This guide will walk you through both methods.

Why Use a Table of Contents?

  • Improves navigation: Viewers can jump to specific sections of the video.
  • Enhanced engagement: Users can access relevant content faster.
  • Boosts accessibility: It helps learners quickly locate the information they need.

Adding a Table of Contents Manually

Navigate to your video settings and click on Contents in the video editor toolbar.

1. Click Add Chapter to insert a new navigation point.

2. Enter a title for the chapter.

3. Set the Start time (hours, minutes, seconds) to determine when the chapter appears in the video.

4. Click Save to confirm the chapter.

Once added, go to Chapter Settings to modify how chapters appear in the progress bar. Choose between:

  • Show chapter markers on the progress bar
  • Show chapter markers when the progress bar is hidden

Click Save & Close once all adjustments are made.

Automatically Generate a Table of Contents with AI

You can use the AI option to automatically generate a table of contents while on the Learning Center plan and above.

Navigate to the Contents tab in the video editor and click Table. The AI will process the video and create a structured list of chapters.

Once created, make sure to review and edit the suggested chapters as needed. Don't forget to Save to apply the AI-generated table of contents and preview the video to ensure the TOC is correctly structured.

Subtitles should be generated/uploaded before the AI can create the table of contents.
