How to Use the Interactive Video Editor

The LearnWorlds Interactive Video Editor is a powerful tool designed to enhance learner engagement by allowing you to add interactive elements to your videos. With this feature, you can transform passive video content into an interactive learning experience where students actively participate and apply concepts in real-time.


How Can You Use the Interactive Video Editor?

Here are five ways you can use this tool to enhance your online courses:


  1. Make your lessons more engaging – Add buttons, images, and quizzes to your videos to encourage student interaction.
  2. Improve knowledge retention – Use questions and interactive transcripts to reinforce learning and help students remember key concepts.

Prerequisites for using the Interactive Video Editor

Before using the Interactive Video Editor, keep these points in mind:

  • Interactive elements are available for videos uploaded to your course video library, regardless of the provider you use.
  • If you're using Vimeo or Wistia links for video learning activities, you can still add interactive elements. However, thumbnails, subtitles, and interactive transcripts will not be supported.

Access the Interactive Video Editor

You can access the Interactive Video Editor through your video learning activities. 


1. Navigate to the course of your choice and visit the Course outline tab.

2. Hover over the created video learning activity and click on Edit Video.

Once inside, you’ll be able to add and customize interactive elements for your video.


Supported Elements

The Interactive Video Editor includes both basic components (such as text, images, and player skin) and advanced interactive features (such as quizzes, buttons, and subtitles).

1. Text & Images

  • Add text or images to your videos.
  • Choose from multiple templates and styles.
  • Set the duration and position of each element.


2. Interactions

  • Buttons – Add call-to-action buttons (e.g., "Buy Now," "Next Lesson").
  • Offers – Promote products or services directly within the video.
  • Questions – Insert quizzes or knowledge checks to reinforce learning.
  • Embed Code – Integrate external content (e.g., interactive forms, surveys).


3. Table of Contents

  • Create chapter markers to break your video into smaller sections.
  • Help students navigate to different parts of the video quickly.


4. Subtitles/Transcript

  • Improve accessibility by adding subtitles.
  • Upload a .srt file or use LearnWorlds' auto-generation feature.
  • Choose to use your subtitles as the transcript.


5. AI Enhancements

  • Utilize our AI assistant to create a structured overview of key topics with a table of contents.
  • Automatically generate concise summaries of your videos.
  • Enhance your videos with AI-generated interactive questions, making learning more engaging and interactive.
  • Use AI for Translating Subtitles in Videos.


6. Comment and Emoji Reactions

  • Enable comments and emoji reactions to your videos to foster a collaborative and engaging learning environment.


7. Thumbnails

  • Choose a frame from the video or upload a custom image as the thumbnail.
  • Thumbnails are available only if you're using LearnWorlds as the video provider.


8. Watermarks

  • Add a watermark to protect your video content.
  • Options include your school logo, school name, user's email, or user ID.
  • This can be set in the Copyright Protection settings.


9. Player Appearance (Skin)

  • Customize the video player skin to match your brand’s look and feel.
  • Choose from different styles and layouts.


10. Video Statistics

  • Track user engagement, views, and audience stats.
  • Video statistics are available only when using LearnWorlds as the video provider.

* Subtitles can be added by uploading your .srt file or can be autogenerated. Importing a .srt file is available in the Pro Trainer plan; subtitle autogeneration requires upgrading to the Learning Center plan.

 

If you add interactive elements to a video and then choose to upload a new version within the same learning activity, the interactive elements will remain intact.
