Similar to other social networks, each user (whether they're an admin, instructor, or learner) within your school has a personal Profile page that's accessible to all school users upon logging in. Currently, the Profile page is a system-generated page and isn't editable, but you can personalize it using CSS snippets, as detailed in this article.

This article will guide you through the process of activating the profile page and explore the available options for your users on this page.

Activate the Profile app

To activate the profile page, navigate to Settings â†’ Learning Apps → Apps Configurator and click on to activate the Profile App.

Access the Profile page

To access the profile page, click on the dropdown menu of your topbar under Me → Profile or from any profile button you have added to your topbar. You can also consider including another topbar link within your After Login topbar or in any other button or element.

- To add the Profile page as an option at the topbar, click on the topbar navigation menu and:

a.  Use one of the pre-ready After login topbar links.

b. Create a new link by following the steps here. Make sure to choose the Apps → Profile as an on-click option.

- To add the People Directory app in a button or element, choose the desired button or element, click on Actions and choose the Apps → Profile as an on-click option.

Explore the Profile page

The Profile page offers the following options:

1. Information related to users' school activity (depending on the enabled school settings).

2. Information such as the number of enrolled courses, the total time spent in the school, the number of posts, and the number of achievements can be found at the top of the Profile page.

3. The About tab showcases a collection of accomplishments, including certificates received, badges earned, and courses undertaken.

  • Professional Experience: Users can add their experience by clicking the Edit Button.
  • Certificates: The user can easily download their certificates as a PDF file by clicking on each one.
  • Badges: If the Gamification Engine is activated in the school, users can view their badges.
  • Courses: All the purchased courses will be displayed.
  • Network: All the “Followers” or “Following” profiles related to the user will be depicted. A user can be followed in a course discussion or via the People directory app.

While in the community, when clicking on a user, you are able to:
  • Message them in their personal inbox.
Inbox is not available in the Mobile Apps.
  • Report them to the school admin.

Notes:

  • If you disable the Profile feature in your Learning Apps settings, users will not be able to view the "Profile" option.
  • If you have the Inbox feature disabled in the Community Access settings, users will not view the "Message" option.
  • If a user is reported, the admin will receive a notification in their email stating, "User Anna has reported user John for bad behavior." The user will also receive a "Spammy" badge if the gamification is enabled.

4. Edit button: Users have the ability to customize their profile page by adding preferred information and adjusting privacy settings. This can be done by clicking the "Edit" button, which opens a window where users can navigate to different tabs to modify their data. Additionally, users can change their account avatar by clicking on the image at the top right corner of the window. Note that changes to the profile avatar may take some time to reflect.

More specifically:

a. General: Users can change their account name, email, and location, or add their personal website.

Notes:

  • Only the location and the website will be displayed on the Profile Page.
  • If you are an admin with the LearnWorlds account, you can change your email under the User Management Page.

b. Professional Experience: Users can add their bio or any professional details they would like to promote on their Profile page.

c. Social: Including personal social media URLs can enhance users' networking capabilities and facilitate connections with other school members beyond the school environment. Users can easily access and visit these profiles by clicking on the corresponding social media icons displayed on their Profile page when they add the social links while editing their information.

d. Account Security:

- Users can manage their two-factor authentication settings if enabled.
- Users, excluding admins with a LearnWorlds account, have the ability to modify their password within the section labeled "Enter your new password." Additionally, they can also change their password from the sign-in/up form.

e. Privacy Settings: Users have the option to enable or disable Functional, Analytical, and Marketing Cookies, activate/deactivate the school email notifications, and determine their preferences regarding the handling of personal data within the school system. Additionally, they can choose to permanently delete their account if desired.

Depending on the school's Privacy/GDPR settings, some options, or even the whole Privacy Settings, can be excluded from the pop-up window.
