How to Offer free Learning Material as a Lead Magnet

School visitors view your Home page, get interested in your content but for some reason hesitate to become registered members of your academic community. Wouldn’t it be great to have a freebie and catch their attention?

You can attract new enrollments from the already registered users by offering free sections in paid courses to showcase your content. Of course, you can offer an entirely free course.  

To attract visitors, we suggest adding an Email Grabber section or widget on your Home or other preferred page and tempting them to enter their email address to directly download free material with useful information like a pdf, a video, or any other file you wish.

Add an Email grabber section

Navigate to the page you wish to add the lead magnet (e.g. your Home page) and select your Email grabber.

Edit the email grabber section

You may edit the title, button, and checkbox text fields, make them attractive to visitors to rush in typing in their email address and get a free glimpse of your content. For example, you could type "Get a free Ebook TODAY" to attract attention. 

Tag lead

By clicking on Edit form you can also create a Tag Lead for your users with a title indicating the page of the Email Grabber section, so for example you might want to offer a Lead Magnet on your Home page, a Study Companion on your Course Catalogue page, or a “Newsletter” on your Contact page.

By using tags can filter later the contacts that have submitted their details, from Marketing → Marketing tools → Leads from Pages. You can learn more on how to utilize the gathered leads, by checking this article.

After submit editing view

You may modify the after-submit message (the “Thank you” text field) and create a link for the free content you offer. Click on Edit Form on your Email Grabber template, then switch the Editing view to After submit

The “freebie” can be linked in the Thank you text, or you could rephrase it to Grab your Ebook here! with an On-click Action, as a Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer file. For more information on how to use links, check this relevant article. 

You can also set an action to be generated after users submit their information in the Email Grabber form. Click on the drop-down menu from Redirect on submit to view all the actions. You can for example use a URL to redirect users to a Google Drive link with a free digital file, or redirect users to a Paid Course with a Free section on Course Activity.

You are ready to gather leads with a freebie as a magnet.
