How to Allow Users to Share their Certificates on Social Media

Once a skill is attained through dedication and perseverance, individuals often feel inclined to showcase their achievements on social media platforms. Therefore, providing them with the option to share their certification from your courses is crucial for acknowledging and celebrating their accomplishment.

In this article, we will go through the necessary configurations in the certificate learning activity, enabling users to effortlessly share their earned certificates on social media platforms.

Share Certificates on Social Media

1. Create your certificate of knowledge or certificate of completion learning activities in your course, depending on your use case.

2. Hover over the learning activity and click on Edit Certificate.

3. Click on the Settings option on the toolbar and choose the Certificate Sharing option.

4. A window will open where you can enable the social media you wish to.

You can change the translation for the prepopulated text from the site language:

If you are an existing customer, you will need to add the {certificate_link} variable in the translation field for the Certification link to be populated.

User Experience

When a Certification is awarded, users have the option (if enabled) to download and share their Certificate on Social Media:

By clicking on the respective Social Media button, they will be redirected to the relevant social media platform where they can share their awarded certification. For example:

-The "Credential ID" and "Credential URL" fields are automatically populated when the users log in to LinkedIn to share their Certificates.

-Sharing a certificate on social media creates a post announcing the achievement, but it does not share the certificate file itself. To share the actual PDF file, download it locally and include it in a new post.
