In order to add a learning unit to a course you first need to select to edit the courses by either clicking on the contents tab or by clicking on the "Edit contents" button.

Then click on the "Add an activity" option.

Video

In LearnWorlds you can either directly upload a video file and use it in your courses (following this article) or include an existing video that is stored in vimeo.com.

Here is how you can use an existing video from vimeo.com:

1Click on the Video option under the "Multimedia" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.

2Insert the title of your video unit and click "Save". 

Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your video learning unit.

Then add the description of the video and your Vimeo id. You can also change the default icon of the unit.


3If you want you can add an attachment to your unit as well.


4To store your video unit just click the "Save" button.click the "Save" button.

Ebook

The eBook learning unit is a learning object for presenting textual information. You can easily import your existing text and present it by using tens of eye-catching and responsive templates. Your learners will love the reading experience, as well as the highlighting and note-taking tools. 

1To add a new ebook click on the "ebook" option under the "Multimedia" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.


2Insert the title of your Ebook unit and click "Save".

Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your Ebook learning unit.


3Then add the description of the Ebook and you can also change the default icon of the unit.


4If you want you can add an attachment to your unit as well.


5To store your Ebook unit just click the "Save" button.click the "Save" button.

Quiz

This is a self-assessment quiz which consists of multiple choice and true/false questions.

Please note that quizzes are not formal exams. Learners get immediate feedback for their answers but they do not get a score after completing a quiz. If you want to create a formal test then have a look at the exam learning unit which is described after the quiz learning unit.

1To add a new quiz click on the "quiz" option under the "Questionnaires" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.


2Give a title to your quiz and click "Save".


Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your Quiz learning unit.


3Then add the description of the Quiz and you can also change the default icon of the unit.

4If you want you can add an attachment to your unit as well.


5To store your Quiz unit just click the "Save" button.

Exam

This learning unit can be used for creating formal tests. You can create any kind of test by managing settings such as the duration of the test, maximum number of tries, passing grade ,etc.

1To add a new Exam click on the "Exam" option under the "Questionnaires" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.


2Give a title to your exam and click on the "Save" button.


Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your Quiz learning unit.


3Then add the description of the Exam and you can also change the default icon of the unit.

4If you want you can add an attachment to your unit as well.


5To store your Exam unit just click the "Save" button.

Assignment

Assignments are open-ended (text) questions that your students have to answer by writing a paragraph of text.

1To add a new Assignment click on the "Assignment" option under the "Questionnaires" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.


2Give a title to your assignment and click on the "Save" button.


Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your Assignment learning unit.

3Then add the description of the Assignment and you can also change the default icon of the unit.


4If you want you can add an attachment to your unit as well.


5To store your Assignment unit just click the "Save" button.

Certificate

Certificates are formal exams and if they are completed successfully, learners get an award, which is a pdf certification file. So, each certificate is a formal test. If you simply want to include an awarded certificate at the end of a completed course, then checkout the "Certificate of Completion" learning unit. 

1To add a new Certificate click on the "Certificate" option under the "Certificates" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.

2Give a title to your Certificate and click on the "Save" button.

Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your Certificate learning unit.

3Then add the description of the Certificate and you can also change the default icon of the unit.


4Specify the requirements your learners must meet in order to take the certification exam. You have 2 options. Your learners can take the certification exam either when they have taken all the questionnaires of your course (quizes,exams,assignments) or when they have attended all the learning units of the course.

5To upload your pdf certification file that your users will get,  press the "Add certificate" button.


6If you want to give your learners the ability to share the awarded certification in their Linkedin/Twitter/Facebook profile, you can check the relevant box. This action will create a new linkedin button that your users can press in order to share their award to their Social Networks. This way you can viralize your online school! Students are always eager to showcase the latest skill or certification they acquired and course sellers are double happy, since their courses become viral and attract more and more eyeballs and sales :-) For more info about the share to linkedin button read the article that can be found here.

Certificate of completion

"Certificates of completion" are awarded to students after they have finished studying a course (they have visited all the learning units or they have successfully passed all the tests of a course). 

1To add a new Certificate of Completion click on the "Certificate of completion" option under the "Certificates" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.


2Give a title to your Certificate of Completion and click on the "Save" button.

Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your Certificate of Completion learning unit.

3Then add the description of the Certificate of completion and you can also change the default icon of the unit.

This kind of certificate has no questions to be edited. You just add it in your course when you want to award your learners with your certification.

Pdf

You can easily add PDF files in your courses, such as presentations, worksheets or even whole books.

1To add a new PDF click on the "Pdf" option under the "Multimedia" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.

2Give a title to your pdf file and and click on the "Save" button.

Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your PDF learning unit.

3Then add the description of the PDF, change the default icon of the unit and if you want you can specify the number of pages in your PDF.

4If you want you can add an attachment to your unit as well.

5To store your PDF unit just click the "Save" button.


Embed

Our platform supports embedding so you can import all sorts of web content to your courses, from google forms to presentations.

1To add a new embed unit click on the "Embed" option under the "Embed" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.

2Give a title to your Embed and and click on the "Save" button.

Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your Embed learning unit.

3Then add the description of the Embed unit, and you can also change the default icon of the unit.

4Then simply paste your embeddable code in the box.


5If you want you can add an attachment to your unit as well.

6To store your Embed unit just click the "Save" button.


Youtube

You can insert YouTube videos in your courses using the YouTube embeddable code.

1To add a new Youtube unit click on the "Youtube" option under the "Multimedia" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.

2Give a title to your Youtube unit and click on the "Save" button.

Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your Youtube learning unit.

3Then add the description of the Youtube unit, and you can also change the default icon of the unit.

4Then simply paste your video embeddable code in the box.

Note: To find the embeddable code of the video you would like to embed, click on the "Share" option below the video player, then select the "Embed" tab, and copy the embeddable code.

5If you want you can add an attachment to your unit as well.

6To store your Youtube unit just click the "Save" button.



Slideshare

Using the embeddable code of a slideshare presentation you can easily include such a presentation in your courses. 

1To add a new Slideshare unit click on the "Slideshare" option under the "Embed" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.

2Give a title to your Slideshare unit and click on the "Save" button.

Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your Slideshare learning unit.

3Then add the description of the Slideshare unit, and you can also change the default icon of the unit.

4Then simply paste your Slideshare embeddable code in the box.


Note: To find the embeddable code of the slideshare you would like to upload, press the "Share" button, and above that button a window including the embeddable code will show up. Grab the embeddable code and you are good to go! :-)


5If you want you can add an attachment to your unit as well.

6To store your Slideshare unit just click the "Save" button.


SoundCloud

Using the embeddable code of a soundcloud track you can easily include it in your courses.

1To add a new SoundCloud unit click on the "SoundCloud" option under the "Multimedia" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.

2Give a title to your SoundCloud unit and and click on the "Save" button.

Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your SoundCloud learning unit.

3Then add the description of the SoundCloud unit, and you can also change the default icon of the unit.

4Then simply paste your SoundCloud embeddable code in the box.


Note: To find the embeddable code of the soundcloud track you would like to upload, choose it from the SoundCloud website and then copy the embeddable code as shown below. Firstly you have to click on the "Share" button.

And then you have to select the "Embed" tab.

5If you want you can add an attachment to your unit as well.

6To store your SoundCloud unit just click the "Save" button.

Audio file

This option will give you the ability to include mp3 files you have stored in a server of yours.

1To add a new Audio unit click on the "Audio" option under the "Multimedia" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.

2Give a title to your Audio unit and and click on the "Save" button.

Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your Audio learning unit.

3Then add the description of the Audio unit, and you can also change the default icon of the unit.

4Then simply paste your Audio file url.

5If you want you can add an attachment to your unit as well.

6To store your Audio unit just click the "Save" button.

External link

This option will give you the ability to include webpages as external sources in your courses.

1To add a new External link unit click on the "External link" option under the "Embed" category in the window that shows up once the "Add an activity" option is clicked.

2Give a title to your External Link unit and and click on the "Save" button.

Click on the "Edit Settings to further edit your External Link learning unit.

3Then add the description of the External Link unit, and you can also change the default icon of the unit.

4Then simply paste your External Link.

5If you want you can add an attachment to your unit as well.

6To store your External Link unit just click the "Save" button.
