Quick Start Guide 6: Test the Learner Journey

Before you launch your school, it’s important to preview the learning experience through the eyes of your students. Testing as a learner helps you catch setup issues, refine your enrollment process, and ensure your school feels polished and easy to use.

This guide will show you how to:

  • Create a test user

  • Log in as a user to troubleshoot

  • Experience the sign-up process

  • Review the enrollment flow

Step 1: Create a Test User Account

A test user lets you simulate the learner experience without affecting your real admin account.

Go to Users All Users Add User.

What to do:

  1. Create a new user with a different email address from your admin account.
  2. Assign this user the User role.

  3. Activate the test account to access your school as a learner.

Advanced Tip: Keep this test account for future troubleshooting. You can use it anytime to check the learner’s view.

Step 2: Log in as a User for Troubleshooting

LearnWorlds allows you to log in directly as one of your learners, so you can see exactly what they see (Learning Center +).

Go to Users  All Users  [Select User], hover over the three dots, and click on Log in as User.

This feature is especially useful if:

  • A learner reports an issue, and you want to replicate it.

  • You want to double-check the visibility of certain courses or pages for a specific user.

Remember: While logged in as a user, any actions (like submitting a quiz) are recorded for that account.

Step 3: Test the Sign-Up Experience

Your sign-up page is often a learner’s first impression of your academy. Testing it ensures everything looks professional and works smoothly.

What to check:

  • The sign-up form fields are correct (name, email, password, or any custom fields you added).

  • Social login options (Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Apple, etc.) work as expected.

  • Confirmation or welcome emails are triggered correctly.

Advanced Tip: Try signing up on both desktop and mobile to ensure a seamless experience.

Step 4: Review the Enrollment Experience

Finally, test how learners enroll and access your course.

What to do:

  1. Log in with your test account.

  2. Try enrolling in a Free course (should grant instant access).

  3. Try enrolling in a Paid course (check payment, confirmation, and access).

  4. Navigate through the course player to confirm your activities load correctly.

Advanced Tip: If you’ve set up learning programs, subscriptions, or private courses, enroll your test user in each type to confirm the process is clear.
