Ebook User Tools - How to take Notes (Workpad/Best Resources)

With LearnWorlds’ Ebooks, users have the chance to highlight the text, make notes, add stars, or comment on social media for a particular part of the text.

If you wish to learn more about Ebook Authoring click here.

If a user is studying an Ebook and marks on a text field, the Ebook panel will appear.

Highlight

The top three buttons of the Ebook panel can be used to highlight text in yellow, red, or blue. Highlighting can be undone simply by right-clicking the highlighted text and choosing Remove Mark

Notes

Users can add notes on Ebook’s text, by clicking on the small notepad of the Ebook panel. If a note is no longer useful, it can be removed by clicking on the yellow highlighted text → Remove Mark and also by right-clicking on the small notepad and Remove Note.

Stars

Important parts of your Ebook can be also marked with stars to be emphasized. Stars can be deleted from the Ebook, by right-clicking on each of them, and you un-highlight the text next to stars with Remove Mark.

Note: Another option for your students is to clear their markings and notes in just one step. They only have to right-click and select from the panel the clear all markings-notes from the chapter option.

Community

Text can be directly shared with your school’s community and co-users, by clicking the blue social icon at the last row of the Ebook panel. Users can comment or edit the selected text before sharing.

Highlight marker

With the Ebook panel, users can use a highlighting marker. With this tool, users highlight text without “multiple clicks".

Note: Users can disable the menu popping in each text selection/marking of text, with the last button of the panel. It can be re-enabled by refreshing the page.

Best Resources

Your users can utilize highlights and notes to restudy all the important parts of Ebooks, by accessing the Best Resources section of your school!

Under Best Resources and My Notebook submenu, users can locate the notes kept during their Ebook study and highlights with the respective link to the Ebook.

Notes

  • The My Notebook section on your Best Resources page is not visible on mobile devices.
  • If you want to completely hide the notes menu with all the available tools (highlights, etc), this can be achieved through the Custom Code. All you need to do is go to your Custom Code in the <style> (css) for built-in pages (i.e social, profile, workpad, my account) and insert the following snippet:

.slug-ebookplayer .-context-menu-wrapper {
display: none !important;
