Creating an online course allows you to share knowledge with a global audience, making education accessible and flexible. LearnWorlds simplifies this process, helping you effortlessly create, organize, and customize your course content.
In this article, we will learn how to create an online course in LearnWorlds and set up the course outline.
Create a Course
You can create a new course in LearnWorlds using one of the following methods:
1. From the main admin dashboard, click on Create course.
2. Navigate to Courses → Course Manager and click on Create course.
Both methods will take you to the Course Creation Wizard, a user-friendly tool that guides you through setting up your course in a few steps.
Course Creation Wizard
To set up your course, follow these steps in the course creation wizard:
1. Add Course Details: Add the name of the course, a description, and a cover image. The description and cover image are optional. 2. Set the Course URL: The course public URL will be automatically generated from the course title, but you can edit it if needed. 3. Choose the course access: Select the type of access for your course. You can choose between:
Access | Description |
Draft | The course is unpublished and only visible to you. This is ideal for building your course at your own pace. |
Free | Available to all registered users at no cost. |
Paid | Only accessible to users who purchase the course or are manually enrolled. |
Private | Only accessible to users who are manually enrolled. The course is not listed in course catalogs. |
Coming Soon | Visible to users but not yet available for enrollment. It builds anticipation. |
Enrollment Closed | Displayed in course catalogs but not available for new enrollments. Only users who are manually enrolled have access. You can set the course to "Enrollment Closed" in the Access tab of your desired course, but only after the course has been created. |
4. Set the price: If you choose Paid as the access type, set a price for your course. You can also offer discounts to attract potential students.
5. Pick a page template: Choose the default theme layout for your course page or apply a layout from another course.
Set up the Course Outline
Once your course is created, you can start organizing the course content:
1. Create the course outline from scratch by adding new sections and activities.
2. Import and sync existing content (you can find more details in the relevant support article).
3. Use LearnWorlds' AI assistant to help generate your course outline.
