How Users Can Cancel/Change their Subscription Plan

As a school administrator, you can offer subscriptions (via Stripe payment gateway). If needed, you may need to provide learners with clear instructions on how to cancel or change the plan of an active subscription.

Cancel a Subscription plan

1. Ask the user to log into your LearnWorlds school and access their Account.

2. The user will find a Cancel Subscription button. When clicked, a pop-up message will appear for confirmation.

If the user proceeds, the Account page will display a button for the optional reactivation of the same subscription plan or the option to choose another one by clicking on the Change button (if available).

Change the Subscription plan

Users can update their subscriptions at any time by selecting a different option from the available plans.

1. Ask the user to log into your LearnWorlds school and access their Account.

2. They can choose the subscription they want and click on Change.

The update will take effect immediately. If the new plan costs more, they will be charged the difference. If it costs less, the remaining balance will be credited to their account and applied to the next renewal.

  • When a user cancels their subscription, this results in automatic unenrollment from the courses included in the subscription plan in the next billing cycle. Until then, the subscription is scheduled for cancellation, as the user has paid for that billing cycle.
  • If users cancel their subscription plan, days or months before the renewal date, the re-activation button will be shown until the renewal date passes. After the renewal date passes, users need to purchase the plan as new.
  • If users cancel their subscription plan, while in a trial period, they will continue to have access to the plan until the expiration of the trial period. If you wish to remove the access of the user who canceled the subscription trial immediately, you will need to either do this through your Stripe account or by manually unenrolling the user from the subscription plan.
