In this article, we explore the capabilities of AI (Artificial Intelligence) assistants in the realm of feedback provision. Discover how to harness the full potential of AI technology to deliver impactful and effective feedback in Assessments, in the Review Center.

When do Assessment responses go to the Review Center for Grading or Feedback

1. When creating an Exam (Graded-Assessment), you can insert questions that can be automatically graded and a score to be provided on the spot.

If Text Assignment, File Assignment, or Record Video/Audio types of questions are added to an Exam Learning activity, the Assessments will be moved to the Review Center for grading. The users will see the Pending status ending screen until the Assessment has been graded.

2. When creating a Self-assessment learning activity, you also have the option to insert:

  • Exam question types such as Text Assignment, File Assignment, or Record Video/Audio.
  • Form question types such as File Upload or Record Video/Audio questions and Manual Feedback is enabled under Settings.

These assessments can be located in the Review Center for the admin or instructor to provide feedback manually. For more detailed information, you can read our relevant guide: How to Grade Assessments or Provide Feedback (Review Center)

Providing Feedback with AI Assistant in the Review Center

To provide feedback using the AI assistant in the Review Center:

1. Navigate to Courses → Review center, or visit your desired course and click on Pending Reviews.

2. Choose the specific assessment you wish to review and click on Review Assessment or Review Self-Assessment.

3. Locate the AI assistant widget and click on Generate Feedback in each question or under Overall Feedback (optional)

For non-graded assessments, click on Review Self-Assessment to provide feedback (grading is disabled) and click on Edit Feedback to edit and generate feedback using AI.

4. A popup window will appear, offering a range of options and settings to tailor the feedback to suit your needs.

The available options:

  • Define the feedback type: Choose between Simple type or incorporate Strengths and Weaknesses analysis, Positive Reinforcement, or a Rubric-based approach. In essence, you bestow upon the entire text its distinctive style.

Once you generate the feedback, the editing control is in your hands. You possess the liberty to selectively highlight either a particular segment or the entirety of the feedback, enabling you to:
